Learning Mentors

Here at Booksward we have Mrs Bass who is our learning mentor.

The role of the learning mentor is to support the needs of children who may be experiencing difficulties either at school or at home which are stopping them from learning effectively. By working together with children and families we hope to overcome these barriers and help all of our children to reach their full potential.

Please select  How Can The Learning Mentor Help Your Child for more information on ways we may be able to help.

If you wish speak to our learning mentors, please come into the school office or ring us on 01908 605605.

We have the use of our Willow Room which is a dedicated area used for extra support and for working with children as needed.

Operation Encompass

Our school is part of Operation Encompass.

This is a police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people who experience Domestic Abuse. Operation Encompass means that the police will share information about Domestic Abuse incidents with our school asap.

Our parents are fully aware that we are an Operation Encompass school. The Operation Encompass information is stored in line with all other confidential safeguarding and child protection information.

Staff have also had training about Operation Encompass, the prevalence of Domestic Abuse and the impact of this abuse on children. We have also discussed how we can support our children following the Operation Encompass notification. We are aware that we must do nothing that puts the child/ren or the non-abusing adult at risk.
